Contact the desk
Questions about a measure, a unit or a reference note are welcome. Email is the one way to reach the desk, so keep the thread for your own records.
Write to the desk
Your email app will open with the address filled in. Write in plain words, and say which page or note you are asking about.
What to include
- The unit or measure family you are asking about, and the page you were reading.
- The value you entered and the figure you expected, if you are checking a conversion.
- Whether the figure is for cooking, making, trade or study. Trade questions also belong with your local weights and measures authority.
- A photo of the label or the scale display, if your question concerns what a product states.
Before you write
Many questions are answered in one of the desk's own pages. The unit converter shows exact factors for each family, and the field guide explains tare, resolution, density and temperature scales in more depth.
What the desk cannot answer
Questions about prices, investments, legal disputes or medical matters are outside this desk. We can explain the units involved, but we cannot give personal advice on those subjects.
